Several of the Horizon 2020 funded Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects are joining forces with the support of NetworkNature, REA and DG ENV to bring the work of the NbS taskforces to the EU Pavilion at UNCCC COP 27.

The session "A nature-positive economy for climate and biodiversity benefits" organised by TF3 projects will examine the driving forces for a nature-based economy, showcase success stories and draw lessons for going forward towards the adoption of nature-positive practices.

The session "Co-creation of NBS for climate change adaptation" organised by TF6 projects CLEVER Cities, Go Green Routes, Phusicos and URBINAT will address stakeholder and community engagement as a crucial aspect in the planning and implementation of NbS. Best approaches and tools to integrate and mainstream co-creation in strategic planning in cities and regions will be shared.

The session "Combatting extreme weather: are NbS ready to tackle the challenge?" will present examples from the H2020 projects OPERANDUM, PHUSICOS and RECONECT, and others, on how small-scale interventions of Nature-based Solutions to mitigate the impacts of extreme weather can be transformed to large-scale landscapes.

The session "Documenting the multiple benefits and engagement mechanisms of NBS: applying a common EU impact assessment framework" will provide an overview of the EU publication produced by TF2 “Evaluating the Impact of Nature-Based Solutions: A Handbook for Practitioners” and provide a series of snapshot-style presentations on its application in the projects Connecting Nature, GrowGreen, UNALAB and Urban GreenUP.
