2nd EU-Serbia Joint Research and Innovation Committee meeting

On 25 November 2024, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of Serbia hosted the second EU-Serbia Joint Research and Innovation Committee meeting. The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Ivana Vukašinović, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Science, Technological development and Innovation, and Ms. Anne Haglund-Morrissey, Deputy Head of Unit for International Cooperation (Americas and Europe), DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission. 

The key topics discussed included the latest national developments in Research and Innovation, Serbia's participation in Horizon Europe, and measures to further stimulate research and innovation cooperation. Additionally, the committee explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration in the context of the European Innovation Council, Partnerships and Missions, and Serbia's performance in the European Innovation Scoreboard. 

Specific presentations were given on the Serbian Innovation Fund, on the Science Fund, and on the planned BIO4 initiative and associated infrastructure developments.

The committee also reached operational conclusions that will guide future cooperation and ensure the alignment of efforts between Serbia and the European Union in the areas of research and innovation.
