The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Olfa Ben Ouda, and the EU Ambassador to Tunisia, HE Marcus Cornaro, participated in this review day.
This event was an opportunity to review the lessons of bilateral and regional cooperation, but also to discuss the role of Tunisia in ambitious future European scientific cooperation programs.
On this occasion the EU Ambassador, Marcus Cornaro said that “the evolution of EU-Tunisia cooperation in Research and Innovation towards a co-construction of strategies and programs and a transfer of knowledge at the level of steering and governance mechanisms is a logical path for partners who share the same geographical area and face common challenges ”.
Scientific relations between Tunisia and the European Union have intensified considerably in recent years. Since the 1995 Association Agreement and particularly since the 2003 Scientific and Technological Agreement, Tunisia and the EU have continued to strengthen the means of cooperation in higher education and scientific research. This collaboration has taken on an even more important dimension with the privileged partnership signed in the aftermath of the revolution with the ambition of consolidating Tunisia's democratic turn.
