Funding opportunities in Horizon Europe for knowledge valorisation actions

The recently adopted Horizon Europe work programme 2023-2024 contains several opportunities to fund new and innovative actions supporting the translation of scientific knowledge and research results into innovative solutions. The aim is to increase cooperation between knowledge valorisation actors, to enhance strategies, skills and capacities and to initiate reforms in line with the new Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation.

  • Fostering knowledge valorisation through societal and cultural interactions
    HORIZON-CL4-2023-HUMAN-01-33
    This action supports existing or new schemes in the interaction of arts/industry/ society which strengthen and increase knowledge valorisation. This may include developing and testing new schemes, initiatives and modes for arts-industrial technologies-citizens interactions leading to increased uptake of research results and innovative solutions by market and society and/or transferring, with the appropriate adaptations, and testing in another environment, existing schemes, initiatives and modes for such interactions.

  • Experimentation and exchange of good practices for value creation
    HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ERA-01-03 & HORIZON-WIDERA-2024-ERA-01-05
    The action promotes experimentation, peer learning and testing of new models for researchers to engage with society as well as trying out good practices of knowledge valorisation in different environments.

  • Piloting communities of expert facilitators to improve industry-academia-public sector co-creation
    HORIZON-CL4-2023-HUMAN-01-32
    This action will improve knowledge exchange between industry, academia and public sector by building communities of expert facilitators and disseminating novel approaches and best practices for demand-driven industry-academia-public sector co-creation across Europe.

  • Boosting industrial symbiosis by standardisation
    HORIZON-CL4-2023-HUMAN-01-62
    The action reinforces the links between standardisation and research and innovation in circular value chains, ensuring that standardisation facilitates cross-sector interoperability at all levels.

  • Toolbox for efficient intellectual property licensing for market uptake and societal value creation
    HORIZON-CL4-2023-HUMAN-01-31
    This action will deliver an intellectual property toolbox to help companies, public research organisations (including universities) and the relevant intermediary entities to establish quick and efficient co-operation and licences with businesses. It will also deliver practical examples of incentives, which can foster the use of voluntary licensing mechanisms, which are particularly relevant to address crisis.
