Register now to participate in the European Research and Innovation Days 2022

Today, the Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation opens registrations for the fourth edition of the European Research and Innovation Days, which will take place virtually on 28 and 29 September 2022.

This year’s edition gives participants the opportunity to discuss and shape new solutions to strengthen Europe’s resilience and its strategic autonomy. The programme includes sessions on the new European Innovation Agenda, the European Year of Youth, the richness of European cultural creativity, the EU Missions and many more topics.

Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said:

Do not miss out on Europe’s flagship research and innovation event. This year’s European Research and Innovation Days have a rich programme covering the latest on the new European Innovation Agenda, EU Missions, the European Year of Youth and more. This is your chance to contribute to make Europe the global powerhouse for the new wave of deep-tech innovation and startups. Register now and join the conversation

The two-day event will bring together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and citizens to debate and shape the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond. Like in previous editions, its policy conference attracts thousands of participants from all over the world.

Next to this, the 2022 EU R&I Days Village will provide the space for networking and matchmaking opportunities. This year, the Village will include several digital ‘Houses’, covering the R&I Policy and innovation files, the Horizon Europe Programme, and each of the five EU Missions on Climate Adaptation, Cancer, Ocean, Cities, and Soil. A new, interactive Exhibition will engage citizens directly with the EU Missions, a new way to bring concrete solutions to some of our greatest challenges.

Up until the event in September, news and updates will be regularly shared on social media via #RiDaysEU as well as the event webpage.

Background

Since its first edition in 2019, the European Research and Innovation Days has been the European Commission’s annual flagship event on the future of research and innovation. The conference provides an opportunity to connect, take stock of the achievements of research and innovation and gather broad input from policy makers, stakeholders and citizens on how research and innovation policy and funding can deliver on European priorities. Last year’s edition brought together over 21,000 participants from over a 100 different countries in 70+ sessions and workshops under the policy conference.
