Ocean mission engages digitally with European youth Parliament

The Oceans mission took part in an online youth engagement session organised by the European Youth Parliament, on 17 April.

Delegates, aged 15-18 from several European Member States as well as Armenia and Turkey, participated.

François Galgani, member of the Oceans mission board presented the main challenges around marine pollution (hydrocarbons, trace metals, Persistent Organic Pollutants, eutrophication, plastics), complemented by a presentation of the mission concept by the European Commission.

The delegates interacted with questions and will continue to discuss potential solutions amongst themselves. These will be shared with the European Commission and the mission board in writing, and will be discussed at an online plenary setting of the European Youth Parliament.
