Call for feedback on expert group report on EU taxonomy for environmentally sustainable activities

The Technical expert group on sustainable finance (TEG) seeks feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, including non-financial companies, through a call for feedback on its report on EU Taxonomy

Background to the report

This report, published in June 2019, is a key step towards the development of an EU taxonomy and provides recommendations to the Commission on which economic activities can contribute to tackling climate change.

The ultimate aim of the taxonomy is to equip investors with a tool for identifying and investing in sustainable activities and projects.

The TEG report proposes 67 activities, which significantly contribute to climate change mitigation together with performance criteria.

These economic activities stretch over 7 sectors

  • energy
  • transport
  • agriculture and forestry
  • manufacturing
  • water and waste
  • information and communications technology (ICT)
  • buildings

The report also presents principles for climate change adaptation, which can be applied to a wide range of sectors.

The report is accompanied by a short user guide.
