Description
The European Union has made significant efforts to promote mental health and prevent and treat mental disorders through various policy initiatives. The European Commission has been a long-standing supporter of mental health research and innovation, with over 1,000 projects funded under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. These projects cover a range of thematic areas, including biomedical and socio-cultural approaches, as well as strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in different settings and across the lifespan.
Recent challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, have exacerbated mental health issues across Europe. These developments underscore the need for innovative tools and solutions to support mental well-being and address mental disorders effectively.
Objectives
The event will:
- Showcase promising practices from EU-supported R&I projects and facilitate connections with potential end-users
- Provide a forum for discussion and identification of future priorities in mental health R&I
- Offer networking opportunities among diverse research communities and stakeholders in the biomedical, social, and cultural fields
