Turning research into a thriving business is no easy task. Science-based spin-offs and startups need support mechanisms to embark on an entrepreneurial path and use the intellectual assets as the basis for a successful company.
What structures, programmes and services help them turn ideas into market-ready products and solutions useful for society?
As the EU prepares its Startup and Scaleup Strategy, you will learn in this webinar from a panel of practitioners who are supporting researchers in turning their ideas into innovative solutions that deliver for citizens and succeed in global markets. It explores effective practices to guide and help science-based spin-offs and start-ups to be launched and grow.

Background
To accelerate the translation of research results into tangible societal and economic value, a survey is currently being conducted on the Codes of Practice on Knowledge Valorisation, adopted by the European Commission in 2023 and 2024. The survey aims at gathering inputs from all R&I actors to help shape future activities that will enhance knowledge valorisation practices.
Participate in this survey to share your views and provide feedback. Open until 30 May 2025.
The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission continues a series of online EU Knowledge Valorisation Talks throughout 2025. The Talks tackle policy debates on knowledge valorisation or showcase inspiring practices at national or regional level related to academia-industry collaboration, intellectual asset management, standardisation, social impact of research or citizen engagement.
