Scientific consensus is clear: human health, domestic and wild animal health, plant health and the health of our environment are deeply connected. They cannot be addressed in isolation as they form a common system that demands to be treated as a whole. This integrated approach is known as ‘One Health’.
There is strong scientific evidence for the benefits of applying a One Health approach to policymaking in all the areas affected, from health systems and food production and safety, to zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, neglected infectious tropical diseases and the environment.
In this context, the EBS Live TV debate will explore the policy recommendations of the Commission's Science Advisory Mechanism (SAM) and how they can be implemented at the EU level.
This event will be livestreamed.
