Description
The aim of this event is to further disseminate the EU Mission ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030’ and engage with a broad range of stakeholders from waterfront cities, ports and fleets.
In particular, the event will launch the Shared Transition Plan of Mayors for the Mission as a good practice showcasing how Cities and Competent Authorities can actively cluster a broad range of actors (shipowners, ports, green technology providers, fishermen, maritime tourism/leisure organisation and boat license & seafarers course providers) in the common deployment of the Mission Implementation Plan.
It will also focus on how different types of fleets, ports and the shipping sector with its many activities contribute to support the implementation of the Mission Ocean and Waters.
Interested delegates will also be welcomed to attend, the next day (27 June) the final Ocean Summit which, ending the Genoa Process, will lead to the draft principles of the Declaration of Ocean Rights that will be presented to the United Nations General Assembly, in New York, in September 2023
