About the topic
There is a gap between the measurement of CO2 emissions from cars in the laboratory and under real-driving conditions. This reduces consumer trust and the effectiveness of measures to combat climate change.
This scientific opinion provides guidance on how to improve the measurement of CO2 emissions.
Its recommendations have contributed to the post-2020 emissions standards, building on current worldwide harmonised light vehicle test procedure (WLTP).
