The International Coalition for Science, Research and Innovation (‘the Coalition’) is a multi-stakeholder initiative to address the urgent and long-term recovery of Ukraine’s research and innovation sector.
The Coalition aims to provide a platform for a broad range of stakeholders to mobilise greater support for Ukraine’s research and innovation ecosystem and advocate for its role in Ukraine’s broader recovery. The Coalition was officially launched at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome on 11 July with the signing of the Rome Declaration of Intent for Science, Research and Innovation.
Coalition meetings
The Coalition meets on a regular basis in two formats: the high-level steering committee, and the technical level meetings.
The high-level steering committee meets annually in person, bringing together key decision-makers of the Coalition members to provide strategic and political guidance.
The technical level meetings are held at least three times a year. Their purpose is to develop a common understanding of specific challenges faced by Ukraine’s research and innovation ecosystem and share information about ongoing and planned initiatives to coordinate amongst the Coalition members and foster collaboration. These meetings also prepare the groundwork for the high-level steering committee meetings.
