EU civil security research provides innovations, modern technologies and data to governments, EU and national authorities, businesses and researchers, on topics of strategic importance for Europe’s security. 

Opponents of democracy seek to muddy the waters so much that truth and facts become impossible to distinguish from lies and falsehoods, eroding and undermining public trust. 

The Commission has put forward a series of actions to support the recovery and digital transformation of the media sector, and to create a better and safer environment for journalists to perform their work.

The behavioural sciences, social sciences and humanities can bring us new insights into our political behaviour, such as how and why emotions, values, identity and reason affect how we think, talk and take decisions on political issues.

This report, intended for policy and decision-makers, is the first of its kind to bring together interdisciplinary insights from the social and behavioural sciences on values and identities in the political process.

Objectives: inform the public about the importance of free, independent and plural media to foster democracy and raise awareness about running Horizon projects on media.

Research shows that citizen participation in policymaking can deliver better policies, strengthen democracy, and build trust in institutions.

Research will help to shape Europe’s future free of antisemitism and prevent atrocities from happening again. Research and innovation Framework Programmes have been supporting research on antisemitism, Jewish life and the Holocaust.
