Update on Call for Expressions of Ideas/Potential Members (CEI)

On 26 August 2020, the Commission published a Call for Expressions of Ideas/Potential Members (CEI), aimed at preparing the future Clean Aviation partnership. It called all interested technology stakeholders to provide transformative ideas/concepts and to express their intention to co-invest in the programme and its major demonstrator platforms.

Applicants had until 30 November 2020 to submit their proposals. At the closing date, the Commission registered 82 applications and, after an assessment made by external independent experts, 17 applications reached the final panel. From these 17 applications, 7 were short-listed as priority ideas, with their consortia participants being retained as potential additional members to the partnership. Moreover, a complementary list of some 40 organisations from applications not retained has also been set up, as potential additional members.

A public summary of the retained ideas have been forwarded to the preparatory group of the Clean Aviation partnership. In the next phase of the process, the potential additional members will be contacted by the services of the Commission to establish their interest in potentially joining the partnership.
