Medical device developers tackling covid-19 to be supported by OITBs

To help tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3 Open Innovation Testbed Projects (OITBs) Safe-N-Medtech, TBMED and MDOT launched an open call for expressions of interest to include new case studies in their ongoing projects.

Innovative SMEs, companies, start-ups and applied research institutions were able to apply to this call. The three projects have allocated part of their budgets in order to provide services to the medical device developers, helping them reaching the market faster.

The call was opened on 15 September 2020. Within a short period of time, nearly 30 applications were received. Through a thorough evaluation process, in total 9 proposals were selected that have the potential to make a difference in the fight against COVID-19. Currently technology assessment and the contract negotiations are on-going with the successful applicants.
