Jury members are welcomed to Brussels for a week of face-to-face final-stage evaluations. Small and medium-sized companies can receive up to €2.5 million in EU funding as part of the SME Instrument Phase II funding programme
This is the first time that applicants in the final stage will pitch their ideas to a jury of 15% business angels, 20% entrepreneurs, 20% venture capitalists, experts from larger corporates, innovation hubs and accelerators, the majority of which are women - who will evaluate the solidity of their innovation plan.
The interviews will last for no longer than 30 minutes, and will include:
- 10-minute pitch
- 20 minutes of questions from the jury on the company, the team, the technological feasibility, the projected results and the potential to expand and create new markets
