The first Green Deal Projects support office newsletter is out

The EUR 1 billion European Green Deal Call is funding 73 projects that will contribute to achieving the ambitious Green Deal objectives.

The projects are expected to deliver breakthrough solutions that can turn green challenges into innovation opportunities within their lifespan.

Given this ambitious objective, the European Commission established the Green Deal Projects Support Office. It is helping the Green Deal Call projects by facilitating their collaboration, sharing best practices among themselves but also other more mature projects, and offering them tailor-made support in order to increase their impact.

The work of the Green Deal Projects Support Office is well under way and its first newsletter has just been published. The first issue introduces the Support Office and how they work. It will also provide an overview of the past and upcoming events. The next issues will present highlights of projects, give an insight of how they are advancing, and inform you about their future events and activities.

Background

The European Green Deal is the European Commission's blueprint and roadmap to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050, with a sustainable economy that leaves no one behind. The Commission launched in 2020 the EUR1 billion Horizon 2020 call with a view to mobilise the European research and innovation community and contribute to this central priority of the Commission. The call addressed directly the main priorities of the Green Deal and set a pathway for additional, related research and innovation initiatives in the context of Horizon Europe, the EU Research and Innovation programme 2021-2027.
