European Week of Regions and Cities: Join our info session on how to implement circular systemic solutions in cities and regions

The 20th edition of EURegionsWeek under the motto ‘New Challenges for Europe’s cohesion’ is approaching and registrations are now open!

Our online Info session “Implementing circular systemic solutions in cities and regions” will take place on Wednesday 13 October, 12:30 – 13:30 CEST.

Participants will learn more about the first year of operation of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI), a cooperation and support scheme launched by the European Commission as part of the EU Circular Economy Action Plan 2020. The CCRI Coordination and Support Office (CCRI-CSO) assists cities and regions in implementing circular solutions and therefore supports the Green Transition at local level.

The session will feature presentations by the City of Asker and the Region of Central Macedonia who recently got selected, respectively as a CCRI Pilot and a CCRI Fellow. They will showcase the circular solutions they aim to implement – with the support of the CCRI-CSO and its partners – and discuss their needs, challenges and expectations towards CCRI. The audience will interact with the speakers on how to implement circularity in their own city or region through this new EU Initiative and exchange on common barriers and opportunities. Before or after the session, participants will also have the possibility to join a virtual stand for a chat with the CCRI Coordination and Support Office.
