The European Commission concludes first negotiation round on Horizon Europe association with the Faroe Islands

The European Commission (EC), represented by the Horizon Europe deputy Chief Negotiator Anne Haglund-Morrissey, concluded the first negotiation round for Horizon Europe association with the Faroe Islands.

The Faroe Islands highlighted their high interest in a swift association to the programme. In this meeting, the EC negotiation team explained the Financial Contribution Model of the draft Association Agreement and the main principles of Sound Financial Management. A significant part of the draft Agreement on the participation of the Faroe Islands in Union programmes and its related Horizon Europe Protocol and Annexes were discussed, and important progress was made.

The next and possibly concluding round of negotiation is expected to take place by the end of September 2021.
