On 11 November 2020, the EU-Ukraine Joint Committee meeting took place online, due to the exceptional circumstances. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Director- General Signe Ratso of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (European Commission) and First Deputy Minister Mykola Kyzym of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The discussion covered the latest policy developments. Ukraine presented the implementation of the recommendations delivered by the 2016 Policy Support Facility report. The EU presented the latest H2020 EU Green Deal Call as well as the September 2020 communication on the European Research Area.
Participants also focused on Ukraine’s participation in the H2020 R&I Framework Programme. By November 2020, Ukraine ranked 7th in terms of participation and budget share among Associated Countries.
The European Commission and Ukraine highlighted the importance and strength of their R&I cooperation.
