On 13 May, Maria Cristina Russo, Director for International Cooperation in Research & Innovation, spoke at the “Horizon Europe - Building on EU-Africa Cooperation” plenary session of the IST-Africa 2021.
The participation was an opportunity to present for the first time to a selected African community of stakeholders the main expected lines of our upcoming ‘Global Approach for research and innovation’ and Horizon Europe, including the ‘Transversal Africa Initiative’. It was also an opportunity to remind of the long-standing cooperation in research and innovation between the EU and Africa that takes place in in the framework of the High Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD) on Science, Technology and Innovation.
IST-Africa 2021 is the sixteenth in an Annual Conference Series bringing together senior representatives from leading public, private, education and research organisations, to discuss ICT policy, showcase research results and share knowledge from all over Africa.
This year is virtually organised in South Africa together with the Department of Science and Innovation of South Africa.
