Deputy Director General Signe Ratso addresses Moldova’s R&I community

On November 10, Deputy Director General and Chief Negotiator Signe Ratso gave a keynote speech during the Republic of Moldova’s International Day of Science for Peace and Development. She spoke alongside the Moldovan Minister of Education, Research and Innovation Mr. Igor Șarov, the EU Ambassador in Chisinau, H.E. Mr. Peter Michalko, and the President of the Academy of Sciences Mr. Ion Tighineanu.

The Deputy Director General highlighted that, thanks to its Association status, Moldova increased its participation in Horizon 2020. She also encouraged Moldovan researchers and innovators to seize the opportunities under H2020, such as the H2020 EU Green Deal Call or the COVID19 Data Platform. She also welcomed Moldova’s interest to associate to Horizon Europe and reminded that investing in R&I is investing in the future. Finally, Signe Ratso emphasized that societies and citizens have a role to play in science and innovation activities.

“Moldova is full of talent and creativity”, she concluded, “and I look forward see this Moldovan potential reflected in Horizon Europe”.
