Aprašymas

This paper presents preliminary outcomes of an on-going analysis on the extent to which EU-funded research, through the Framework Programmes (FP), has contributed to the evidence base of the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It demonstrates that the European Union Framework Programme for R&I ranks second after the National Science Foundation of the United States in supporting the research referenced in the IPCC reports.

Over 2,500 publications cited by the IPCC (about 12% of the total references) have been totally or partially funded by the EU funding. Among FP themes, the FP7 sub-programme "Environment (including climate change)" and the H2020 “Societal challenge climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials" contributed most to the IPCC evidence (over 1,000 and 420 publications, respectively).
