Launch of the UNTWIST Policy Recommendation Handbook. Why do economic inequalities have gendered consequences for European democracy?
Anti-gender politics are frequently framed as a “culture war.” However, growing evidence suggests that material insecurity and structural economic inequalities play a critical role in shaping political grievances and democratic tensions across Europe. This event presents new research demonstrating how economic inequalities have gendered consequences — and why this matters for the future of European democracy.
The launch marks the culmination of the three-year Horizon Europe research project UNTWIST. The project provides cross-national evidence and translates it into concrete, high-impact EU policy recommendations.
