What does transforming the energy system really mean? Adaptation, resilience & transition challenges

EU side event at the COP 26 in Glasgow with deputy Chair of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission - Nebojsa Nakicenovic

The COP26 brings together governments from around the world to agree coordinated action to tackle climate change. The conference is also a space for governments, businesses, local authorities and civil society to discuss and showcase climate action.

The European Union, like in previous years, provides a space for side events seeking to stimulate the debate on key thematic areas, facilitating dialogue with Party delegates and other participants, as well as launching new initiatives and partnerships and showcasing inspiring and successful projects or policies.

On 1 November – the Science, technology, research and innovation Day - Deputy Chair of the Group of chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission - Professor Nebojsa Nakicenovic will present and  discuss with international experts at the EU pavilion in Glasgow and virtually the recently published scientific opinion of the Group: A systemic approach to the energy transition in Europe. This side session of the COP 26 in Glasgow is organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
