This round table was co-hosted by the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, the Canadian Chief Scientific Advisor and the French Presidency of the G7. The participants discussed whether scientific advice on microplastic pollution is possible in view of limited evidence. The idea for the round table emerged from the G7 Joint Ministerial on healthy oceans, seas and resilient communities on 20 September 2018 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
