Ocean Carbon from Space workshop

Virtual online event dedicated to the role of Earth observations in improving our understanding of the ocean carbon processes

This workshop, organised by the European Space Agency (ESA), in cooperation with the Plymouth Marine Laboratory, will bring together specialists in different fields to identify knowledge gaps in our understanding of the ocean carbon cycle and formulate a scientific roadmap to address those gaps, with an emphasis on the role of Earth Observations (EO).

Following the workshop, the resulting recommendations will be used by ESA to prepare a call for projects on Ocean Carbon that will complement the Horizon Europe call on the oceanic carbon cycle (HORIZON-CL6-2022-CLIMATE-01-02), as part of the EC-ESA Join Earth System Science Initiative.
