This high-level dialogue will gather representatives of the Ethics Councils from around the world, the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies, representatives of international organisations (UNESCO, WHO, OECD and Council of Europe), together with other foremost international thinkers on ethics. 

The 2019 edition of IDBEST will examine ethical challenges arising in the field of gene editing and more broadly the role of ethics in the governance of new technologies.
