Description
Green Hydrogen holds great potential for a green recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and a green transition towards climate friendly energy systems. A number of European countries have agreed to conduct a joint European Research and Innovation Initiative on Green Hydrogen. An agenda process has been launched by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research to identify urgent research and innovation issues and to develop a joint strategic research and innovation agenda. Israel has joined this initiative and takes part in the agenda process. The Commission supports this initiative and accompanies the process as an observer in synergy with the European Hydrogen Strategy launched in July 2020 and other EU Hydrogen initiatives.
The online event focuses on the strategic approaches to Green Hydrogen in the EU, Germany and Israel. It highlights opportunities for cooperation and promotes the initiative towards a European Research and Innovation Agenda. The event is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, by the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology, and by the European Union Delegation in Israel.
