Expert meeting – Environmental and health risks of microplastic pollution

This expert meeting enabled a detailed discussion on how to bridge the gap from the current scientific evidence base to an EU policy-orientated scientific opinion on microplastic pollution.

The SAPEA Evidence Review Report featured prominently in the discussions. There were scientific evidence-based contributions from the Commission’s Joint Research Centre and the European Chemicals Agency, as well as expert views from different scientific experts.
