Clean steel roundtable discussion on research and innovation needs in Europe

The purpose of the event is to:

1. Inform about the reform of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, expected to take effect from the beginning of 2027.
2. Discuss priorities for research & innovation for steel, considering the state of steel research and technologies in the EU and globally and the present economic and geopolitical challenges for the sector.
3. Promote dialogue and networking across the sector.
4. Foster openness and transparency of EU research and innovation programmes for steel.
   The event aims to bring together the EU steel community for a constructive brainstorming roundtable that will allow exchange of perspectives from members of the community, including industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators from across Europe. To encourage preparation and brainstorming, a set of guiding questions have been provided in the event’s guiding document.
