27th Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Regional Platform in Research and Innovation

The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Regional Platform in Research and Innovation will host this meeting of National Focal Points, the aim of which is to adopt the Roadmaps & Theories of Change and Impact Pathways developed by the Expert Group of the UfM and according to the three priorities of Climate Change, Renewable Energies, and Health. The meeting will take place from 09:00 – 12:15 CET (link to the draft agenda here below).

The meeting will be co-chaired by Maria Cristina Russo, Director for International Cooperation of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, and Dr. Arafah Dia-Eddin, Secretary-General of Jordan’s Higher Council for Science and Technology.

The meeting is structured into two parts. In the first part there will be a joint presentation on the state-of-play and results of PRIMA to evaluate its contribution to the joint EU-Mediterranean R&I policy agenda and its possible contribution to the new priorities and implementation of the Roadmaps. In the second part, National Focal Points will discuss implementation modalities, initiatives, and programmes to operationalize the Roadmaps and achieve the priorities identified by the Senior Officials in June 2019.

In closing, the National Focal Points will discuss the adoption of the Roadmaps and next steps going forward in this dialogue. This meeting will be followed by the Horizon Europe Euro-Mediterranean Regional Workshop on 8 July 2021.
